Rooney's Pass
As it looks, judging by the comment flow, as though a freak accident somewhere beneath Geneva has destroyed all of the universe except for this small corner of Notting Hill and, as it appears that the worst football team in the world has suddenly defied all our expectations, I thought perhaps I should point out that the Wayne Rooney pass that set up Walcott's second bears comparison with Pele's pass to Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup Final. I just thought it ought to be said even though you're all dead.

Not dead, leastwise not yet. You never know but that thing might do a China syndrome on us. Anyhooos, thanks for the tip on the goo-chrome it has made a difference on speed for some reason. Broadband they tell me is on the way, but I've been listening to this story from the phone company for years now. And every now and then I think on getting a sat' system. Then I cop myself on, for it would cost near as much as your spring break.
Congrats on the win.

quiet, the Americans are remembering 9/11 and the Brits are busy insulating their lofts.

Elberry. bad news, you may well be a vampire, therefore undead, mind the garlic now.
Anon, I've tried Chrome for a couple of days now, compared to Firefox it's lean, therefore rapid, until you open multiple tabs (they are separate applications) then it grinds your processor into swarf, early days though.

Multiple tabs, Malty, is a dream. And done only when preparing meals. With dialup the snarl hits before the processor. And I do miss the mouse swipe in ffox. I've cut ff down to racing trim, but somehow this one seems to clean its pipes better.
Like you say, early days.

I must say this being dead business is rather disappointing. It's not that I was expecting much, but I had hoped to unwind a little.

I am not dead just depressed. Not that you meant me - no one is ever interested in me as I am rubbish..
One day I would like to be good at something...

Are soccer players trying to pretend they are disabled by not using their arms and hands to move the ball down field? Was there once a war of armless people or something, that this game is giving tribute to? Or was it just that before humans evolved arms and hands, just after emerging from the water as polywog people, but before being fully human, they played games like soccer?
Actually, I like the idea that there was one disabled kid in a neighborhood once, and all the other kids decided not to have any advantage over him. So they all played games without their hands when he was around.

Here's and idea: Why doesn't england win something significant(or qualify for euro cup at least) in football before Pele/Brazil comparisons start being made.
