Boris saves capitalism

Boris has a jolly good Borissey sort of go at the media's Credit Crunch crisis-mongering. Since we must always have a crisis of some sort, I rather favour the Credit Crunch - it's a nice, old-fashioned economic one, where we can all pull together and have a good tut-tut at a vague set of people who are (or at least were) richer than us. I rate it well above anthropogenic global warming, knife crime, bird flu, Islamic fundamentalism and the Y2k bug. Mind you, apparently some idiots still think Marx is the answer.

As Elektor of Hanover, Boris has exactly the right background to sort out these minor probs. Sleeves up, on bike, shoulder to the wheel, into our little boats, off to Dunkirk we go, never mind Gordons excuse "its those foreign Johnnies wot did it".
Do you think he might fix our boiler?

Boris would biff your boiler til it bally well boiled, Malty.
I think it was Al Murray who pointed out that in the old days, all forms of what we would now call 'mental illness' (depression etc) could be cured simply by yelling 'Snap aaat of it!' at the patient. Boris is merely applying the same remedy to the world economic situation.

No, no Brit- don't you realise? Marx is still a useful critical tool blah blah blah and Stalin and Mao and all of that lot weren't real Marxists slobber, drool.
Etc.

"Borissey"?!
I'm getting visions of Boris singing "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now." It just doesn't work. Although he could probably pull off "Bigmouth Strikes Again"...

Credit Crunch is a catchy name to be sure, but if you think you can now cut your teeth on some good, honest old-fashioned destitution and penury and are finally rid of tiresome doomsday-mongering by the beautiful people, think again.

That, Peter, was inevitable. Which doesn't make it any less painful.
